What is Buteyko

Dr. Konstantin Buteyko was a Russian Physician in the 1950s, who noticed that unhealthy people tended to breath through their mouth, using their upper chest, tending to take big breaths, resulting in a higher respiratory rate and volume. More commonly known as breathing pattern disorder or Hyperventilation syndrome.

I offer 1:1 session (either online via ZOOM, or in person in Sheffield) to assess your breathing, discuss the biomechanics, biochemistry and psychology of breathing, and offer a tailored breathing exercise plan for you to follow. Even though my training has been with Buteyko international, I have also been influenced by the work of The Bradcliffe Breathing Method.

Breathing should be through the nose, low (belly/abdominal breathing) slow and light. Overall we need to learn to breathe slower and less.
